All things Wild and Wonderful

Old Post

Four more weeks of school!!! Then back to the real world. I am still waiting to hear back from positions I’ve interviewed for. It is strange to not know what I will be doing at the end of next month. Normally I plan my life out in detail and always know what to expect. This has been a chance to embrace the unknown and grow patience within. Letting life go down the course of the unknown is always a struggle, I am trying to take the time to understand the limits of my own planning and forethought.

"What can educators do to foster real intelligence?…We can attempt to teach the things that one might imagine the earth would teach us: silence, holiness, connectedness, courtesy, beauty, celebration, giving, restoration, obligation, and wildness.”
-David W. Orr

“Let the lover be disgraceful, crazy, absent-minded. Someone sober will worry about events going badly. Let the lover be.”

“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and remembered’ never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.” Audrey Hepburn
