June has already come and gone.

Today is the last day of June. I can't believe how fast time is flying by! Just one more month in North Carolina. I don't know if I will be ready to leave but I know I will be ready to start something new. Had a cookout tonight at Dad's, Aunt Kate was in town and Heather, Charlie and the boys came up for the night. It was really nice to see everyone I will miss them when I am so far away. Really looking forward to our beach trip and getting to spend time together. Anyway nothing new really just an update before June is gone.

Oh! and we gotten a kitten! Sarah found him in the Earth Fare parking lot and he needed a home. He is probably about 6 weeks old we think. It is soo cute and loves falling asleep on me. Might make some planning difficult but worth it to have an addition to our family. His name is Gatsby. He is a dear friend..

nothing new

We rode the Fletcher Flyer on Sunday! My first event like that I rode 50 miles. I haven't ever really riden more than 13 milies so it was a challenge for me. There were app. 800 people riding either the 50, 64, or 100 mile ride. They feed us and it was a really great time the weather was perfect. I am sore but proud I was able to do it. It truly feels like summer now. The heat is here to stay. I worked today then went on a ride today; the rose garden ride up sunset in downtown Asheville. The phish show was tonight so downtown was really crazy but the ride was peaceful and challenging. Then Tommy and I went to a show at the Brew and View which is always a good time. Something about that place makes it feels like summer fun. Yesterday, HR, Sammy, Dad and I went for a ride in Bent Creek. It was really great Sammy was a pro at mountain biking. The clouds began to gather and as we headed home a crazy lighting storm started up and poured rain. Tommy and I have been watching "Nothern Exposure" the 90's tv show from the beginning. I am really beginning to like the show. I think when I look back on it that show will remind me of this summer. Tomorrow we are going to Boone to take care of the lawn that had gotten out of control. Then hopefully we can go to Linville and go hiking. I have been wanting to check out some rides in Dupont. I need to check out the WNC mountain biking website...

the Corn Mill Ridge road ride is supposed to be good. and the Cedar Rock ride.

Passing Afternoon

Vermont was a blast. money was short but fun wasn't. Brattleboro really seems like a place we can feel like we belong. It rained during the beginning of the trip but turned out nice for Saturday. I went on a campus tour and meet with staff. I felt welcomed and it seemed like a great match for me. More than anything I loved the trip because I got to spend time with Tommy. We haven't seemed afternoons doing nothing togethe in a long time. It was fun lying in the hammock and going into bead stores and eating lunch together. We camped in Fort Dummer which was nice, really close to town. I don't think we will have too much trouble finding a place to live (at least I hope not). We are now trying to figure out what we will do for the month of August. I was thinking New Mexico, camping somewhere, or something we don't want pay rent for a month breaking even again. I start working at summer camp for a week starting next saturday. It will be stranged having to stay at UNCA away from my home. I have really become comfortable in this condo. Saturday we are riding in the Fletcher Flyer bike ride. I hope I can finish. I have never been any any runs or rides before should be fun though, glad I have friends doing it too. Hope I am ready! June when did it become June? Can't believe we'll only be in Asheville for a few more months. Going away for a week made me appriecate where I live. I have been lucky in the places I have lived, Boone and Asheville, destinations for most lifestyles for me. Vermont will be my next adventure I will need this time in between to prepare.

Mixed Media Arts

Since I keep finding myself with free time I am looking into mixed media projects... here are a few books I wanna pick up.
*Creative paint Workshop- Ann Baldwin by quarry books

*Mixed Emulsions- Angela Cartwright by quarry books

* Mixed Media Journals- Katherine Duncan Aimone by lark books

Magazine with great ideas:

Tommy also had a good idea about making mixed media collage shadow boxes or cabinets. I would also like to do a postcard photo album project I found in the mixed media journals book. I also found digital photo imagery and painting interesting... oh and mixed media journal projects sounds up my alley!

Song of the day:
Something in the way she moves,
Attracts me like no other lover.
Something in the way she woos me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe in how.

Somewhere in her smile she knows,
That I don't need no other lover.
Something in her style that shows me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe in how.

You're asking me will my love grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
Stick around, and it may show,
But I don't know, I don't know.

Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't want to leave her now.
You know I believe and how.
