when did it become September?

^

Change.
After 24 hours. One incident with the Budget truck at the bank and lots of caffeine we made it to Vermont. The drive took us much longer than we had hoped but in the end we made it. We stayed in America's Best Inn for three nights, which let me tell you is hopefully NOT America's Best Inn. Having a kitten in a small hotel room is not an ideal. Looking for an apartment on a time line is also not ideal.

In brief our hunt included, an old lady in an attic type of apartment with a board for her bed, a burnt out middle age man that thought the coolest part of the place was a machine in his small man made pond in the front yard that turned water to steam fully equipped with patterned lights, and several other questions characters and situations.

Finally three days in we didn't find the ideal but we found the would work and the best of what we got. We moved in a have been trying to figure out where to put all of over packed stuff since. SIT orientation began yesterday and I'll leave it at this, I feel overwhelmed. I believe I can be happy here for the next nine months but I know it will be a challenge. I got comfortable in our cute cozy carpeted condo. I liked living near my family where things were safe and comfortable. Even though my income and career were nowhere I still felt a sense of ease there. I find that moving outside of that comfort makes you realize how comforting it truly is. My goal is optimism and hope. My comfort is Tommy who is my home now, and those brief moments on the phone with family and friends and the knowledge that I have all those people in my heart and on my side.
