Now it's Spring.

May 23, 2009

It's been a while since I have written but since I know no one really follows my blog I don't have to worry. It's spring again in the mountains, oh what a wonderful time of year! We are living in South Asheville now no more West Asheville. But inevitably we are moving once again in a few months to Vermont. I have never lived out of the state before it should be a new and exciting experience. Tommy and I are going on vacation this week to Vermont. I am really looking forward to it. I wish I had money but a vacation away will be nice. I have been working here and there living in Asheville this last year has taught me a lot. It's taught me to try and survive on my own and sometimes I wonder how well I am truly doing. Little by little I am learning how to make ends meet with the little I have. I understand now the burden of responsibility, even with the little I have compared to most adults. I am pretty care free in my duties, no kids, no major debt, just the little credit card bill here and there. But it seems like between paying rent and groceries there isn't much left. I can't understand how most people raise families it is simplt impossible without a living wage. Living wage... something Asheville doesn't know much about. South Asheville is the most disillusioned place I have ever lived it's a whole different town than Asheville. There are just so many rich people that have moved here from out of town and are trying to create there little New York or Florida without regard to the local's trying to make it in their hometown without rich folks moving in and driving up the cost of living. The economy has gone from bad to worse and I can't imagine it getting much better anytime soon. Oh well I guess that's why I have chosen to go into a massive debt to hide away in school again and figure out how to make my way in this world. I just feel lucky I have such a great man by my side to help my get through it all. And speaking of great people it has been so nice having my family and old high school friends around again. It will feel like leaving all over again when I go this time. I already feel the change Syd went back to Chapel Hill for the summer and Ashely is leaving on a summer road trip next week. Where are all friend going. How am I going to make the summer last? Good thing I have my bike. I have really been loving my new road bike I never knew I would love road biking. I get scared riding around traffic but I love being on those backroads rediscovering my hometown. The mountains of North Carolina have never looked so breathtaking than on my bike.

Song of the Day:

Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts?
Just a cage of rib bones and other various parts
So it's fairly simple to cut right through the mess,
And to stop the muscle that makes us confess

And we are so fragile,
And our cracking bones make noise,
And we are just,
Breakable, breakable, breakable girls and boys

And you fasten my seat belt because it is the law
In your two ton death trap I finally saw
A piece of love in your face that bathed me in regret
Then you drove me to places I'll never forget

And we are so fragile,
And our cracking bones make noise,
And we are just,
Breakable, breakable, breakable girls and boys

And we are so fragile,
And our cracking bones make noise,
And we are just,
Breakable, breakable, breakable girls-
Breakable, breakable, breakable girls-
Breakable, breakable, breakable girls and boys

Song of the Day:

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
Ah

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
all right, all right, all right
all right, all right, all right

To look into:

infrared filters Cost:$70-$100

They block all visible light letting only infrared light pass.

I think I like the look. But I want a fish eye can't afford a nice one. A toy one might do:

The Lomographic Fisheye Camera-

Amazon $37.50

Today I am feeling...

"I believed that to be spiritual meant that I had to seek, find and accomplish something outside myself that would bring me happiness and fulfillment."

So I am feeling blue today. I don't know how to describe it but it's a feeling that can take a hold of you and cling. I need to focus on my yoga more. I know yoga brings me to a place of balance and clarity. I know this it's just the act of creating a regular practice that I find challening.

I really want to develop the film from the Holga that we took this weekend. I hope I get to do that tonight after work. I took pictures at Dad's cookout on the horses and of the family ect.

Song of the Day:
One night to be confused
one night to speed up truth
we had a promise made
four hands and then away

both under influense
we had devine scent
to know what to say
mind is a razorblade

to call for hands of above
to lean on
wouldn't be good enough
for me, no

one night of magic rush
the start a simple touch
one night to push and scream
and then releaf

ten days of perfect tunes
the colors red and blue
we had a promise made
we were in love

to call for hands of above
to lean on
wouldn't be good enough
for me, no

to call for hands of above
to lean on
wouldn't be good enough

and you, you knew the hands of the devil
and you, kept us awake with wolf teeths
sharing different heartbeats
in one night

to call for hands of above
to lean on
wouldn't be good enough
for me, no

to call for hands of above
to lean on
wouldn't be good enough
for me, no
